Election denier Mike Lindell is refusing to concede after losing the Republican gubernatorial primary, alleging there were voting irregularities.

Lindell, who Donald Trump endorsed in the race, lost to state Rep. Lisa Demuth, the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, in Tuesday’s primary.

Lindell trailed Demuth by more than 45,000 votes, roughly 11 percent, but suggested foul play was involved.

“I’m down by 20,000 votes with 277,00 votes left to count,” Lindell told a reporter on his network, LindellTV, who asked about whether he would concede the race.

“Now, would you give up if you got 277,000 left to count? And these are the day-of votes, which haven’t been counted yet. These were all mail-in and early votes for Lisa Demuth. So, I mean, why would I say here and go, ‘Ok, I can’t make up 20,000 [with] 277,000 left to count?’ So, that’s where we’re at.”

Minnesota’s KSTP TV reporter Kirsten Swanson reported that Lindell had alleged there were irregularities in the vote count.

“Lindell will not concede,” Swanson reported. “Claims there are anomalies in the numbers that his teams will be looking into overnight.”

Lindell, the “MyPillow Guy,” has a history of casting doubt on election results. He has been one of Trump’s most outspoken supporters and a persistent proponent of the big lie that the 2020 election was stolen. He lost a defamation lawsuit last year and was ordered to pay $2.3 million to a former employee of a voting systems company, whom he called a traitor.

His loss in the primary comes despite a last-minute effort by Trump to drum up support for Lindell, writing that Lindell “deserves a BIG WIN.”

“Nobody has worked harder, and given up so much, in fighting for free and fair Elections,” Trump added.

Demuth will now face Democratic gubernatorial nominee Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) this fall in the race to replace Minnesota’s retiring Democratic Gov. Tim Walz.
