Republican strategist Karl Rove says Donald Trump’s campaign ‘ought to be concerned’ about unifying the Republican party despite his wins on Super Tuesday.
Though Rove calls Tuesday a “strong night for Donald Trump” in an interview on Fox News, he said there is still work left to do, noting that Haley had received more than 20% of the vote in several states on Super Tuesday, including Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont.
“The high command of Team Trump ought to be concerned about unifying the Republican Party,” Rove said in a clip shared by Mediaite.
“There’s still some work to be done to unify the Republican Party,” he added. “That’s going to depend a lot on his tone tonight and whether or not he stops doing things like calling her birdbrained and threatening that if you give money to her campaign you’re going to be permanently banned.”
Rove’s comments came hours after Trump demanded that Fox News get rid of him.
“My record on Endorsements is unmatched by anyone, EVER! Put on people who understand what is going on in politics…And while you’re at it, GET RID OF KARL ROVE!!!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
