Marjorie Taylor Greene threatens to fight a transgender woman who uses women’s restroom at the Capitol.

Marjorie Taylor Greene threatens to fight newly elected transgender lawmaker if she uses women’s restroom.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) suggested that she would get physical with a transgender woman if she tries to use a woman’s restroom at the Capitol, according to Politico.

Greene reportedly made the comment in a private House GOP conference meeting.

Greene did not deny saying she will fight a transgender woman for using the female bathroom, telling reporters that she “shouldn’t have to.”

The latest attack on transgender rights at the Capitol comes as Delaware Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, the first openly transgender lawmaker, is set to assume office in January.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) has introduced a resolution preventing transgender women from using women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill.

Greene says she supports Mace’s resolution and calls McBride “mentally ill” while misgendering her.

“Sarah McBride, as he calls himself, formerly Tim McBride, is a biological man, and he should not be using any of our restrooms in the Capitol and those in our office buildings,” Greene said.

“Nancy Mace’s resolution doesn’t go far enough,” she continued. “Her resolution is just a statement by Congress saying that Congress disagrees with something. We need something more binding.”

McBride pushed back, calling the resolution an attempt by Republicans to distract voters from their lack of policies.

“This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing,” McBride said.

“We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care, and child care, not manufacturing culture wars,” she continued. “Delawareans sent me here to make the American dream more affordable and accessible and that’s what I’m focused on.”
