Rep. Matt Gaetz is reportedly mulling leaving Congress to take a job at Newsmax.
Axios reports that Gaetz has told allies he’s interested in becoming a media personality and has had early conversations with Newsmax about what a position there could look like.
Gaetz, who was elected in 2016, gained national attention for his defense of Donald Trump. According to a source, he believes having a prominent spot in the media could help him gain momentum for a national political role in the future.Â
