Michael Fanone shows up at Kevin McCarthy's office to 'rub it in'.

Former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone visited Kevin McCarthy’s office on Wednesday to mock the GOP leader over his stalled bid to become House Speaker.

The House adjourned on Tuesday without a Speaker for the first time in 100 years because McCarthy failed to reach the 218 vote threshold to win the speakership after three ballots.

According to reports, Fanone showed up outside the Speaker’s office Wednesday, pointed to the missing nameplate above the entrance and said: “Maybe the fourth time’s the charm.”

“I heard he was having some trouble… I just came here to rub it in,” he added.

The House resumed on Wednesday with a fourth and fifth round of voting for Speaker which McCarthy lost as well.

Fanone was one of the more than 100 police officers who were injured on Jan. 6 while defending the Capitol against a mob of Trump supporters. He was dragged, beaten and tased by the mob and suffered a heart attack and traumatic brain injury.

Fanone resigned from the force after the attack and has since published a book about his experience. He has also become a very outspoken critic of lawmakers like McCarthy who try to downplay the events of Jan. 6.
