A Republican caller during a live C-SPAN broadcast on Monday unloaded on his party, saying they deserve to lose every election while demanding that Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth be sent to jail.

The caller, identified as Ronald from West Virginia, responded to C-SPAN host Pedro Echevarria, who asked viewers whether they thought their party would win the midterms.

“As a Republican, I can say one thing. I think that about 85-95 percent of the Republican Party has lost their minds,” Ronald said in a clip highlighted by Mediaite.

“It’s just so clear that my party’s been taken over by loudmouths who are uneducated and unable to process any information beyond what they see on social media,” he continued. “I think most of them don’t even understand what AI is or how it works. I think the Republicans deserve to lose every single election.”

“I think Pete Hegseth needs to go to jail. And it’s obvious Trump needs to go to jail, as well,” he added.

Trump is historically unpopular even in red states; despite this, the president is hitting the campaign trail in heavily Republican areas, telling voters to pretend he is on the ballot.

“The problem that we have is, they say that Trump does great when he’s on the ballot, but when he’s not on the ballot, his people don’t come and they don’t vote for senators, congressmen and other Republicans,” Trump said at a recent rally in South Carolina.

“So what I really want you to do is pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot. Just come and vote. It’s so important,” he added.

These red state rallies are intended to boost several incumbent Republican senators and House members who are facing tough political headwinds in the midterms mainly due to Trump’s record-low approval ratings, an unpopular war in Iran, a tariff war with Canada, and rising inflation, where the cost of living remains a concern.

So far, Trump has gone to Texas, Ohio, Alabama, and Oklahoma to campaign for Republican candidates. He is set to campaign in Nebraska on Monday.

Democrats are heavily favored to take control of the House of Representatives and possibly the Senate. Articles of impeachment have already been filed against Trump and Hegseth in the House.
