Donald Trump reacted in real time to his fat joke about his former ally Chris Christie bombing at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday.

Trump’s joke fell flat as he bragged about the UFCĀ  fight at the White House as part of America’s 250th celebrations.

ā€œIt was a fantastic celebration, but I can exclusively reveal to you this evening that for the heaviest of the heavyweights, we will have sloppy Chris Christie, one of the sloppiest human beings you’ll ever meet,ā€ he said in a clip highlighted by Mediaite.

ā€œFighting, I would say, I could mention the governor of Chicago, but I’m gonna mention, instead, [Rep.] JerryĀ Nadler (D-NY), and they’re fighting for a big piece of cheesecake. Big fat piece of cheesecake.ā€

The joke fell flat, prompting Trump to respond, ā€œWho the hell wrote that line?ā€

ā€œBut it is true,ā€ he added.

The dinner was rescheduled for Friday after ending abruptly in April when Cole Allen opened fire inside the Washington Hilton hotel, where thousands of journalists, Trump, cabinet officials and guests gathered for the event.

AllenĀ pleaded not guilty in MayĀ to charges of attempting to assassinate the president, transportation of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon.

Secret Service officer Victor Gonzales was shot in the incident, but the bullet struck “his protective vest and [he] continued responding to the threat,” the Secret Service said.
