Donald Trump has learned nothing from his battle with the deadly coronavirus. On Friday, he announced he’ll be hosting not one, but two in-person events since testing positive for coronavirus.
The first event will be this Saturday on the South Lawn of the White House where Trump is expected to deliver remarks from the balcony.
The White House remains a coronavirus hotspot with over 30 confirmed cases of the virus. Trump himself still has the virus and his doctors continue to be evasive about his health.
One person familiar with the planning of the event told ABC News: “All attendees must bring a mask with them and will be instructed to wear it on the White House Complex. All attendees must submit to a Covid-19 screening tomorrow morning. This will consist of a temperature check and a brief questionnaire. The health and safety of all attendees is our priority and following CDC guidelines is strongly encouraged.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Donald Trump also announced that he’s heading back on the campaign trail. He’ll be hosting a “very BIG RALLY’ in Florida on Monday.
Can’t say that I’m surprise, since much like Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis believes that the coronavirus pandemic is over. This makes it more likely that a healthy individual will come in contact with a person who knowingly or unknowingly has the virus. And they don’t wear masks at Trump events.
This means that Florida will likely see an explosion of new cases in the weeks after Trump’s rally. Other states may also see an increase as well since people come from all over to attend a Trump rally.
This just further confirms to me that Trump is not trying to win votes because he believes that when the voters reject him, the Supreme Court will save him. So, he’s just trying to feed his ego and keep his base happy and in the process, reminding every American especially those sick with COVID that the rules don’t apply to him.
