Donald Trump stormed out of an interview with NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ after host Kristen Welker pushed back on his lies about the 2020 presidential election.

The interview got tense when Welker pressed Trump on if he planned to end the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund meant to protect individuals who claimed to be persecuted by the federal government, including those who raided the Capitol on Jan. 6. Trump claimed that the people who were involved in the attack had “lost everything” and that on the day, “they had FBI agents ushering them into the building.” Welker repeatedly pushed back, asserting that Trump had “no evidence of that.”

“There’s a lot of evidence,” Trump said. “Listen to me…There’s tremendous evidence. There’s nothing but evidence.”

“Well, it’s not been presented in a court of law,” Welker said.

After a back-and-forth, Trump began to push his claim that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and claimed that the same thing is happening in California because of the slow vote counting.

Welker pushed back, reiterating that there is “no evidence” to support Trump’s claims.

“They’re crooked just like you’re crooked, your press is crooked,” Trump said. “And ‘Meet the Press’ is crooked.”

“To be fair, I’m not crooked,” Welker replied.

“Really?” Trump said. “Well, you play right into their hands then. You’re either crooked or you’re stupid.”

“You play right into their hands with this stuff. You know that these elections are rigged. Your network knows that they’re rigged,” Trump ranted. “Do you know that I won an election in a landslide and I got 94% bad press?”

Welker continued to press Trump for evidence to support his claim of a rigged election until he eventually got frustrated and ended the interview.

“You’re a one-sided crooked network. Sorry. Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough,” he said. “Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”
