Donald Trump has no plans to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration and he wants to be nowhere near the event when it takes place next week.
Reuters reports that Trump plans to leave the White House on the morning of Biden’s inauguration and will hold a farewell event at Joint Base Andrews.
His goal is to leave the White House while he is still president to avoid having to ask President Joe Biden to borrow Air Force One to take him to Mar-a-Lago where he plans to settle into his post presidency life.
Last Friday, Trump tweeted that he will not be attend Biden’s inauguration. It will the first time since 1869 that a sitting president skips Inauguration Day.
According to CNN, Trump is also undecided on whether he will pen a letter to Biden to leave in the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.
