Anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., said Donald Trump plans to give him total control over health policy in the country if he wins a second term in the White House.
Kennedy, one of the leading proponents of anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and who has urged parents not to vaccinate their child, said during a livestream that Trump told him he’d oversee a vast public health portfolio in a potential second term, according to CNN.
“The key that I think I’m – you know, that President Trump has promised me is – is control of the public health agencies, which are HHS and its sub-agencies, CDC, FDA, NIH and a few others, and then also the USDA, which is – which, you know, is key to making America healthy,” Kennedy said.
“Because we’ve got to get off of seed oils, and we’ve got to get off of pesticide intensive agriculture,” he added.
The former independent presidential candidate turn top Trump surrogate has recently began selling T-shirts promoting fat from sheep and cows as a healthy alternative to seed oil.
When he is not promoting quack treatments, Kennedy serves on Trump’s transition team and has been campaigning for the GOP nominee in key battleground states since he dropped out of the presidential race.
On the campaign trail, Trump has said he plans to appoint Kennedy—who claimed a doctor found a dead worm in his brain, admitted to dumping a dead bear cub’s body he was saving for meat in New York City’s Central Park and beheaded a dead whale then driving miles with the animal’s head strapped to the top of his car—to a key role in his administration.
“We will make America healthy again,” Trump told the crowd at a Pennsylvania rally earlier this month. “You know who’s going to do that? RFK Jr. He’s got some good ideas.”
At a rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Trump said he would let Kennedy “go wild” in dealing with issues related to food, medicine and health.
“I’m going to let him go wild on health. I’m going to let him go wild on the food. I’m going to let him go wild on the medicines,” Trump said.
The only thing that will be spared is oil.
“I don’t think I’m going to let him even get near is the liquid gold that we have under our feet,” Trump said.
