California will no longer do business with Walgreens over abortion stance

The state of California has cut ties with Walgreens over the drugstore chain’s decision to stop selling abortion pill in 20 states.

“California won’t be doing business with @walgreens — or any company that cowers to the extremists and puts women’s lives at risk. We’re done,” Newsom tweeted on Monday.

Last week, Walgreens announced that it will no longer sell mifepristone in 20 states after conservative attorneys general threatened legal action.

Mifepristone is one of the drugs most commonly used to terminate a pregnancy when used in combination with misoprostol.
