Officials in Ottawa, Canada, are reportedly considering renaming a street named after Donald Trump to honor former President Barack Obama or a Wall Street term for when Trump backs down from aggressive threats, CNN reports.

The Ottawa City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday to rename Trump Avenue, a residential street in the Central Park neighborhood of Ottawa. The street has had the name for more than two decades, but officials say it is an embarrassment and that they do not want anything in Ottawa named after Trump.

Ottawa City Councilor Tim Tierney told CNN that possible new names are: Obama Avenue, Ontario Avenue, Canada Avenue, Beaver Avenue, Gulf of Mexico Avenue, Canada Goose Avenue, Pelosi Avenue and even TACO [Trump Always Chickens Out] Avenue, in reference to the acronym popularized by Wall Street traders describing a pattern where Trump makes extreme policy or tariff threats, causes market panic, and then backs down.

Tierney cautioned that the committee’s vote is the first step in what would be a lengthy process. A majority of residents would need to support a name change, and a new name would need to go through its own public engagement process.

The last time the board tried changing the name in 2021, 21 of the 62 households on the street voted yes, 20 didn’t vote at all, and 21 voted no because they didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing their addresses, Tierney said.

However, officials believe that this time is different due to Trump’s unprovoked, escalating trade war with Canada and his executive order renaming Lake Ontario to “Lake America” in the U.S.
