Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga) who has been serving in the United States Senate with Sen. Kamala Harris for the past three years pretended not to know how to pronounce her name at a Trump rally on Friday.
While warning the crowd of Democrats’ “insidious” plans if they take over, Perdue rattled off the names of a number of prominent Democrats including Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, Sens. Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders before deliberately butchering the name of the first woman of color to be on the ticket for a major political party.
“Bernie and Elizabeth and Kah-mah-la or Kah-ma-la or Kamamboamamla or however you say it,” Perdue said.
Perdue is facing tough competition from democrat Jon Ossoff for his seat in the senate. Ossoff who was recently on the receiving end of an anti-Semitic attack ad from Perdue tweeted:
“My opponent, GOP Sen. David Perdue of anti-Semitic attack ad infamy, just mocked Sen. Harris’ name as ‘Kamala-mala-mala-whatever’ at a Trump rally. We are so much better than this.”
