Gov. Brian Kemp greeted with boos at state GOP convention.

Gov. Brian Kemp (R) was met with loud boos at the state Republican party convention on Saturday.

Kemp’s speech was drowned out by boos for about 30 seconds “before it was quiet enough to hear him from the press area. But he got his first full applause when he mentioned Georgia being the first state to reopen during the pandemic,” Maya Prabhu, a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, tweeted on Saturday.

Kemp, who is running for re-election next year was attacked by Donald Trump for not supporting his efforts to overturn the results of the election in the state. He is facing a primary challenge from former Democrat Vernon Jones who switched parties earlier this year.
