Dr. Anthony Fauci was caught on hot mic calling Republican Senator Roger Marshall (KS) a “moron” after a fiery exchange between the two men at a Senate hearing on Tuesday about the government’s response to the COVID variants.
During the hearing about COVID Marshall asked Fauci to provide information about his past and current investments since his staff couldn’t find Fauci’s public financial disclosure.
“I don’t understand why you’re asking me that question,” Fauci responded. “My financial disclosure is public knowledge and has been so for the last 37 years.”
Marshall then blamed “the big tech giants” for hiding Fauci’s finances, “where would we find it?” he asked.
Fauci pointed out that if he wanted information about his finances he should just ask adding, “you’re so misinformed it’s extraordinary! All you have to do is ask for it.”
Marshall kept pressing Fauci about his finances even after he reiterated that his financial disclosures are public knowledge.
After chairwoman Patty Murray (D-WA) shutdown Marshall’s line of questioning Fauci could be heard muttering “what a moron. Jesus Christ.”
