Democratic senator from West Virginia, Joe Manchin said on Sunday that he does not support expanding the number of justices on the Supreme Court if Democrats retake the Senate in 2021.
“I’m not going to vote for anything that would cause, basically, not to be able to work in a bipartisan way,” Manchin said on CNN’s State of the Union. “That is not something that I would support.”
Some Democrats have floated the idea of adding more justices to the Supreme Court in retaliation for McConnell stealing two seats and packing the court. But, majority of Americans aren’t on board with that plan. A new ABC News/ Washington Post poll shows, 54% of Americans does not agree with expanding the court while 38% say it is a good idea.
