Former Republican congresswoman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) blasted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over a statement he made in response to Iran killing US service members in strikes in Jordan.

Two U.S. service members were killed Friday while defending against an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack in Jordan, and another service member is missing, U.S. Central Command said Saturday. Four other American service members were also medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged, CENTCOM said.

“Godspeed, heroes,” Hegseth wrote in response to the service members’ deaths. “Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.”

Greene fired back at Hegseth for labelling the killings of two U.S troops “sacrifice” and blasted Donald Trump for being in a “senseless” war with Iran.

“Sacrifice?? What the fuck are you talking about??” Greene wrote. “They did not willingly sacrifice themselves. They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the admin, are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel.”

“Their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war,” Greene continued.

The U.S. launched retaliatory airstrikes on Saturday at Trump’s direction to “swiftly punish” Iranian forces for the attack in Jordan, CENTCOM said in a statement.

“The gates of HELL have now been UNLEASHED like they never could have imagined or seen before,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Greene has been a vocal opponent of Trump’s war with Iran. She has repeatedly criticized the Trump administration’s military escalation, for a “senseless” and “stupid” war being fought on behalf of Israel, rather than prioritizing American interests.
