Melania is Donald Trump’s ‘partner in crime,’ former senior adviser says.

Melania Trump believes it's her time to "leave her mark on history".

A former senior adviser to Melania Trump said the former first lady is no unwitting accomplice to Donald Trump’s work, she is his “partner in crime.”

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who worked as Melania’s senior adviser until 2018, told CNN that the former first lady is complicit in her husband’s agenda.

“People keep giving her this out, this reason to believe that Melania should be freed from Donald, but Melania is complicit,” Wolkoff said. “Melania is, you know, side by side with the showmanship and she is exactly like Donald, just, unfortunately, in a skirt and high heels.”

Asked if Melania would be making more public appearances to help Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, Wolkoff said: “I do feel strongly that Melania Trump isn’t going anywhere. I believe that Melania will stay by Donald’s side. Throughout all of this, she is his partner in crime.”

Wolkoff’s comments came after Melania made a rare public appearance Friday at the National Archives Naturalization ceremony where she spoke about the challenges she faced on her path to citizenship after she emigrated from Slovenia in 1996.

“My personal experience of traversing the challenges of the immigration process opened my eyes to the harsh realities people face, including you, who try to become U.S. citizens,” Melania said. “And then, of course, there are nuances of understanding the United States immigration laws and the complex legal language.”

She did not mention the fact that her husband plans to implement far-right immigration policies to limit both legal and illegal immigration if he is re-elected.

The National Archives is currently at the center of Donald Trump’s federal indictment for alleged mishandling of classified documents and immigration is a central focus of his re-election effort.

According to Wolkoff, Melania made an appearance on Friday at the National Archives because of the publicity and that it would bring more attention to the immigration debate.

“It is the attention she receives, it is what brings Donald the ability to bring more people to the forefront of what he is discussing about immigration, and for her to really talk about and be there under the guise that she cares about America and democracy is untruthful,” Wolkoff said.
