President Joe Biden said “the pandemic is over” in discussing COVID during an interview that aired on Sunday evening on CBS’ “60 Minutes.” However, he acknowledged the country still has a “problem” with the virus.
“The pandemic is over,” the president told host Scott Pelley. “We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lotta work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over. if you notice, no one’s wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape. And so I think it’s changing. And I think this is a perfect example of it.”
Despite Biden’s statement, COVID continues kill more than 400 Americans daily, according to the New York Times and the country recorded more than 2 million Covid cases in the last 28 days.
