The US recorded its second deadliest day from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic on Tuesday.
The country recorded 3,401 deaths. It is the fifth time the country has seen more than 3,000 deaths from the virus this month alone.

This brings the total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 322,765. Also on Tuesday another 195,033 new cases of the disease was recorded, and the number of hospitalizations surged to a record of 117,777 people.
