A new video released on Thursday shows then-President Donald Trump, Melania Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis meeting on the tarmac with Jason Pirozzolo, an Orlando hand surgeon and GOAA board member, who is at the center of a trip Rep. Matt Gaetz took to Bahamas that is now being scrutinized in his sex trafficking probe.
According to CBS, Pirozzolo allegedly paid for the travel expenses, accommodations, and female escorts, on the 2018 trip. Investigators are trying to determine if the escorts were illegally trafficked across state or international lines for the purpose of sex with the congressman.
The video on Thursday shows Donald and Melania Trump, greeted in Orlando by Ron DeSantis, his wife Casey and Pirozzolo in 2019.
It is not clear how Pirozzolo got the opportunity to greet the President of the United States on the airport tarmac.
Sources told CBS that investigators also want to know if Gaetz was accepting paid escorts in exchange for political access or legislative favors.
In 2018, Pirozzolo told Ganjapreneur.com that Gaetz was working to introduce federal legislation that would boost medical research of cannabis.
Gaetz would later introduce the Medical Cannabis Research Act, twice, in April 2018 and again in January 2019, though it never came to a vote.
