Anti-war protestor disrupts live Russian State TV news shouting 'stop the war'.

An anti-war protestor in Russia interrupted live state TV news shouting “stop the war” while holding a “no war” sign.

According to Insider the woman, Maria Ovsyannikova, is an editor at Channel One, Russia’s premier state broadcaster. She interrupted her own network’s live broadcast to spread the anti-war message and had a sign telling viewers that they are being lied to.

“Stop the war! No to war! Stop the war! No to war!” she shouted.

Her sign read:  “NO WAR. Stop the war. Don’t believe propaganda. They are lying to you here.”

Channel One closely follows the Kremlin line that Russia was forced to invade Ukraine to defend Russian-speakers there against “genocide,” and to demilitarize and “denazify” the country, Reuters reports.

Human rights officials told Reuters that Ovsyannikova was arrested and taken to a Moscow police station. She may face charges under a law against discrediting the armed forces.
