George Santos says he expects to get expelled and slammed the hypocritical ‘felons’ in Congress who drunkenly have sex with lobbyists ‘every night’

George Santos: “I know I’m going to get expelled"

Embattled GOP congressman Rep. George Santos (R-NY) expects to be expelled from Congress when his colleagues–some of whom he referred to as “felons”–return to Washington DC after Thanksgiving recess.

Santos who had already survived two attempts to kick him out of Congress admits that the outcome will be different this time.

“I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor,” Santos said in an interview with conservative podcast host Monica Matthews Twitter Spaces Friday. “I’ve done the math over and over, and it doesn’t look really good.”

But, he’s not worried about it.

“I don’t care. You want to expel me? I’ll wear it like a badge of honor,” Santos said. “I’ll be the sixth expelled member of Congress in the history of Congress. And guess what? I’ll be the only one expelled without a conviction.”

House Ethics Committee Chair Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.) introduced a resolution to expel Santos from Congress earlier this month following the committee’s damning report which found “substantial evidence” that Santos “violated federal criminal laws” and referred him to the Department of Justice.

However, Guest’s resolution has not been put on the House floor schedule, and would require a member to notice the motion as privileged in order for it to do so, Newsweek noted.

Following the release of the report, Santos announced he will not be seeking re-election next year but refused to resign.

“I’m not running for reelection, not because this was a damning report. I’m not running for reelection because I don’t want to work with a bunch of hypocrites,” he said Friday.

“Within the ranks of the United States Congress, there’s felons galore, there’s people with all sorts of sheisty backgrounds, and all of a sudden, George Santos is the Mary Magdalene of the United States Congress,” Santos added. “I don’t want to work with a bunch of hypocrites. It’s gross. I have colleagues who are more worried about getting drunk every night with the next lobbyists that they’re going to screw and pretend like none of us know what’s going on and sell off the American people.”
