MAGA lawmaker says Trump “was born a special baby”

MAGA lawmaker says Trump “was born a special baby”
Republican Rep. Troy Nehls.

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) was mocked on Thursday for saying Donald Trump “was born a special baby”.

While speaking to reporters, the congressman claims Trump is the best thing to happen to the United States in a century, and when he was born, doctors must’ve known he was something special.

“Donald Trump is the best thing to happen in this country in a hundred years. He was born a very special baby. I bet you the doctors said, ‘I can tell this is a very special baby,’” Nehls told reporters, according to a video posted on Twitter.

Nehls suggested that others who do not share his view of Trump are suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome’ and should seek therapy.

“Maybe we ought to provide counseling to all the nutjobs out there that think that Donald Trump is the worst thing ever,” the congressman said.

Nehls was mocked for his cultlike praise of Trump.

“Even in Pyongyang they must be looking at this and wondering WTF,” tweeted retired U.S. Navy College professor Tom Nichols.

“Congress is literally Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) tweeted.

Nehls offering over-the-top praises for Trump is nothing new. In April, he compared Trump to the “second coming” of Christ during the MAGA leader’s beef with the Pope.

“I believe that Donald Trump is better than sliced bread. I think he’s almost a second coming, in my humble opinion,” he told reporters on Capitol Hill.

“I think he’s done a fantastic job,” Nehls added. “He’s got a very difficult job. Pope’s got a tough job, you know, got issues in the church, but Donald Trump has a very, very difficult job to do, the toughest job in the world.”

Nehls, who is retiring, also co-sponsored legislation to replace Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill with Trump.
