Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) cursed out a reporter on Monday who asked the lawmaker about his prolonged silence on the allegations of domestic abuse against Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) by the senator’s daughter.

Emily Moreno told police last week that Miller “threw her against the wall, which resulted in an obvious grab mark on her upper arm” and had previously “held a gun to her head” and threw hot water on her. Moreno also said Miller broke his daughter’s collarbone.

Miller has denied the allegations and is suing Moreno for defamation.

According to NBC News,  Sen. Moreno cursed out CNN’s Ellis Kim, who asked him “why it took so long to issue a statement” on Miller.

“You know, I hope you never have to go through a situation like this, and you wouldn’t ask that kind of f*cking question,” Moreno responded.

Moreno previously told NOTUS, “I don’t know” when asked if Miller should seek re-election. But on Sunday, he delivered a more forceful statement, calling Miller “dangerous” and saying he should not be in public office.

“As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help,” Moreno said on Twitter Sunday morning. “He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter.”

“If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them,” Moreno continued. “He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does.”

Miller has said he will not be dropping his re-election bid.

“Just want to be clear: no court, no agency has ever substantiated any allegation of abuse against me. No criminal charge has ever been filed against me,” Miller said in an announcement on Twitter Sunday. “Every single one of these allegations were already investigated, and I cooperated fully every single time because I had nothing to hide and I have nothing to hide now.”

“I’m not getting out of this race, and I’m winning in November,” he added.

Asked why Miller isn’t resigning, Moreno told reporters, “You’ll have to ask him.”

“Look, guys, this is about my personal family situation,” he added, calling the matter “grotesque.”

Miller is facing Democrat Brian Poindexter in November to hold on to his seat in Ohio’s 7th congressional district. Democrats believe they can flip the seat with Miller on the ballot.
