Donald Trump shared a fake video of CNN host Anderson Cooper declaring that the former president “ripped us a new asshole” after his appearance at a town hall hosted by the network on Wednesday night.
“That was President Donald J. Trump ripping us a new asshole here on CNN’s live presidential town hall,” Cooper said in the fake clip Trump posted on his Truth Social website. “Thank you for watching, have a good night.”
During the hour long town hall appearance, Trump doubled down on his lies about the 2020 election, clashed with host Kaitlan Collins and mocked E. Jean Carroll one day after a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming her.
The former president also defended his supporters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 and said he would likely pardon “many of them” if he is re-elected in 2024.
All this as the Trump-friendly audience applauded and laughed.
While Trump and his allies are taking a victory lap, CNN is taking heat from Democrats and media pundits for giving the former president a platform to spread lies and attack his sexual abuse victim.
