A Trump supporter was stunned silent after CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan told her that God is not mentioned anywhere in the U.S. Constitution.
O’Sullivan interviewed supporters of the former president for an episode of The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper, titled “MisinfoNation: The Trump Faithful” which airs on Sunday.
On Friday, CNN previewed a clip of the upcoming episode showing O’Sullivan arguing with Julian Lightfoot, a MAGA supporter who still believes that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
“I have a God-given right to speak my own truth,” Lightfoot said.
“But there are facts, right?” O’Sullivan pressed.
“The facts have shown that the election was stolen. Whether you’re willing to look at that and accept that and really show what’s going on, that’s your issue, not ours,” Lightfoot responded. “We want the God-given freedom that our Constitution and our Bill of Rights is based on.”
“God-given constitutional rights,” O’Sullivan repeated. “They’re two different things, right?”
“No, sir, they’re not! Read. R-E-A-D the Constitution,” Lightfoot responded “Read it out loud to yourself so that you hear what the words of the Constitution say.”
“God isn’t mentioned in the Constitution,” said O’Sullivan.
“Sir,” Lightfoot began before going silent for a several seconds then she reached for her phone.
The clip ends before Lightfoot adds anything further, but O’Sullivan revealed that she found out God is not mentioned in the Constitution.
