Mike Davis, a conservative attorney who is reportedly being considered for the role of attorney general in President-elect Donald Trump’s second term threatened to jail New York Attorney General Letitia James for investigating Trump.
“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term. Because listen here, sweetheart: We’re not messing around this time, and we will put your fat a– in prison for conspiracy against rights, and I promise you that,” Davis said on conservative Benny Johnson’s podcast in a clip highlighted by The Daily Beast.
“So, think long and hard before you want to violate President Trump‘s constitutional rights, or any other American‘s constitutional rights,” he continued. “It’s not going to happen again.”
Earlier this year, James won a civil fraud case against Trump and his organization. The president-elect was ordered to pay a $454 million overinflating the value of his assets to get better loans.
Davis’ warning to James comes one day after he went on a profane rant on X saying he wants to “drag their dead political bodies through the streets, burn them, and throw them off the wall.(Legally, politically, and financially, of course.).”
According to the Washington Post, Trump has suggested that he is considering Davis to run the Department of Justice during his second term because he believed his first term picks “were a mistake” because they were “weak or defied him.”
Davis has made comments about sending journalists and former GOP personalities including George Conway and Tim Miller to “the gulag” and would put migrant kids in “cages.”
“My goal is for the Supreme Court to dismantle most of the federal government” if he becomes attorney general, Davis told Politico.
Donald Trump Jr, who told Fox News Thursday that he will be “heavily involved on the transition,” and will play a key role in selecting cabinet members, has praised Davis in the past, calling him “the tip of the spear defending my father from these corrupt Democrat prosecutors.”
“He’s exactly the type of fighter that I’d like to see involved in a second Trump administration,” he added.
