Attorney General Pam Bondi defended the Trump administration arresting a Wisconsin judge on Friday for allegedly helping an undocumented migrant evade ICE agents.

Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested around 8 a.m. Friday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. FBI Director Kash Patel said in a since-deleted social media post that Dugan was arrested on charges of obstruction.

Bondi confirmed Dugan’s arrest in a post on X “for allegedly helping an illegal alien avoid an arrest. No one is above the law.”

In a Fox News interview, the US attorney general said Dugan’s arrest is a warning to other members of the judiciary who cross the Trump administration.

“What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me,” Bondi said. “The [judges] are deranged is all I can think of. I think some of these judges think that they are beyond and above the law. They are not, and we are sending a very strong message today … if you are harboring a fugitive… we will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you.”

Dugan’s arrest comes days after ICE arrested former New Mexico County Magistrate Joel Cano and his wife on suspicion of hiding an alleged Venezuelan gang member in their house. They haven’t been charged with a crime.
