Republican Sen. Roger Marshall (KS) plans to introduce the Financial Accountability for Uniquely Compensated Individuals (FAUCI) Act after a fiery exchange with the nation’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci over his finances at a Senate hearing this week.
A spokesperson for Marshall told The Hill that the act would require the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) website to provide the financial records of administration officials like Fauci and a list of those in the government whose financial records are not public.
This comes after a fiery exchange between Fauci and Marshall at a Senate hearing on Tuesday when Marshall asked Fauci to provide information about his past and current investments since his staff couldn’t find Fauci’s public financial disclosures.
“I don’t understand why you’re asking me that question,” Fauci responded. “My financial disclosure is public knowledge and has been so for the last 37 years.”
“All you have to do is ask for it. You’re so misinformed, it’s extraordinary,” Fauci added.
After the exchange, Fauci was caught on hot mic calling Marshall a “moron.”
