Lawsuit accuses North Carolina House speaker of extramarital affair and engaging in 'group sex' for political favors.

A lawsuit accuses North Carolina Republican House Speaker Tim Moore of having a sexual relationship with a married state government employee and engaging in group sex with other people seeking political favors, according to WSOC-TV.

The suit filed by former Apex City councilman Scott Lassiter on Sunday claims Moore used his position as Speaker to entice his then-wife Jamie Lassiter into a three year extramarital affair.

Lassiter said in the suit that he set up surveillance of his wife on Dec. 21, 2022, after learning of her alleged affair with Moore and was able to confirm it to be true.

According to the suit, Jamie Lassiter admitted to the affair the next day and to “group sex with other individuals seeking Tim Moore’s political favor.” The lawsuit says Lassiter’s wife “implored” him to allow the extramarital affair to continue so that she could keep her job as the executive director of the North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court, which is a state-funded position.

Moore also confessed to the extramarital affair when Lassiter met with him on Dec. 26. He also implied “that he could use the power he held as Speaker in some way to benefit Plaintiff,” the lawsuit says.

The couple has since separated and is getting a divorce.

Both Moore and Jamie Lassiter are denying the allegations.

“This is a baseless lawsuit from a troubled individual,” Moore said. “We will vigorously defend this action and pursue all available legal remedies.”

“The claims are not only false but impossible as we’ve been separated with a signed separation document for years,” Jamie Lassiter said. “Our marriage was a nightmare, and since I left him it has gotten worse. We are reaching the end of our divorce process and this is how he’s lashing out.”

Lassiter is suing for alienation of affections and civil conspiracy. He’s seeking more than $200,000 in damages.
