Ohio’s largest newspaper by circulation gave Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) some much needed advice in the new year.

The editorial board of The Plain Dealer, told Jordan: “No more unnecessary House Judiciary ‘investigations.’ Focus on actual governing instead.”

Jordan is the chairman of House Judiciary Committee and the Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. He also sits on the House Oversight Committee.

Jordan has a nonexistent legislative record despite being in Congress for 16 years. He has however lead several investigations during that time.

Just last year alone, Jordan has investigated the FBI for alleged discrimination and bias in Donald Trump’s probes, Twitter’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 presidential election, the probe into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, what he sees as a crisis at the border and the federal government’s alleged involvement in social media censorship.

As chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, he is also leading the House impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden. Republicans have accused the president of benefiting from his son’s overseas business dealings and being improperly influenced by them while he was serving as vice-president.

Both President Biden and his son have denied the allegations. As is the case with many of Jordan’s investigations, Republicans have yet to find any evidence to support their claim.
