Trump supporters mistook former Atlanta mayor for DA Fani Willis and yelled at her: "Lock her up!"

Former Mayor of Atlanta Keisha Lance Bottoms, said the crowd of Donald Trump supporters that gathered at the Fulton County Jail on Thursday verbally attacked her because they thought she was Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

The crowd was reportedly chanting “lock her up” and saying Willis’ name. When Bottoms arrived for an interview with CNN they yelled the chant at her.

“When I pulled up, they thought that I was Fani and they started chanting that at me as well, and just walking through the crowd there was a lot of hatred out here,” Bottoms told CNN.

“A lot of hatred and really bad energy out here, but you know, this is— when you sign up for public service, you don’t get to pick and choose your good days and your bad days,” she added.

Trump was charged last week with 13 counts related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.

The indictment, brought by Willis accused Trump of pressuring state officials to overturn the results of the election despite his loss to Biden.

Trump surrendered at the Fulton County jail Thursday evening and became the first U.S. president to have his mugshot taken. He was processed as inmate number P01135809, with his height listed as 6’3″, weight 215 lbs, having “blond or strawberry hair” and blue eyes.

He later called being at the jail a “terrible experience” he “never thought I’d have to go through.”
