Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) is the latest Republican senator to indicate that he will not object to the certification of Electoral College votes in Congress on Wednesday.
According to Politico, Sen. Lee is circulating a letter to senators on Capitol Hill outlining his reasons for not siding with the long-shot effort led by Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley to overturn the results of the election.

“With respect to presidential elections, there is no authority for Congress to make value judgments in the abstract regarding any state’s election laws or the manner in which they have been implemented,” Sen. Lee reportedly writes in the letter.

On Sunday, two of Trump’s closest aliies Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said they will break with the Cruz-Hawley led effort as well.
Trump warned Sen. Cotton, a possible contender for the Republican Party nomination for president in 2024 that Republicans “NEVER FORGET”, in a tweet on Monday.

Both Sen. Cotton’s and Sen. Lee’s letters came after the audio of Trump’s phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was leaked on Sunday.
Trump demanded that Raffensperger “finds 11,780 votes” to help him overturn the results of the election in Georgia.
