The Republican controlled House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to issue a rare rebuke to Donald Trump over his deeply unpopular war of choice with Iran.

The House voted 215-208 to pass a Democratic-led measure introduced by Rep. Gregory Meeks (N.Y.) to end his war with Iran over objections from Republican leadership. Four Republicans joined all Democrats in voting yes.

Those Republicans were Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Tom Barrett of Michigan, and Warren Davidson of Ohio.

The House was scheduled to vote on the measure before the Memorial Day recess on May 21, but House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) abruptly pulled it from the floor when it appeared that there were not enough Republicans present to defeat it.

The resolution directs Trump to remove U.S. armed forces from hostilities with Iran, unless Congress votes to declare war or authorizes the use of military force against Iran.
