White House officials were not impressed with Katie Zacharia’s performance as press secretary, and several are now wondering how long she will remain in the job.

Zacharia’s first press conference was just 15 minutes, and a majority of that time was spent reading a lengthy opening statement touting the Trump’s administration’s alleged accomplishments.

She then called on just three reporters from conservative outlets from what appeared to be a preapproved list.

White House officials were not impressed. Several told CNN that her performance was unlikely to satisfy Donald Trump.

They described Zacharia’s appearance as unusual and “brutal.”

Other advisers called the briefing “awkward,” “stilted,” and, at times, “uncomfortable.”

“No question we’re all missing Karoline,” one adviser said.

Another adviser told CNN that Trump is likely to give Zacharia the benefit of the doubt, adding that while she “wasn’t great,” it was just her first press briefing.

But an anonymous official invoked former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci’s 10-day tenure, saying Zacharia might break that record.

“Getting behind the podium is tough, but she got off on the wrong foot. She needs to get much better, fast, otherwise she’ll break Scaramucci’s record,” the source told MS NOW’s Jake Traylor.

Before she was selected as press secretary, Zacharia served as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, which runs Donald Trump’s Truth Social website. She also served as deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security for two months under former Secretary Kristi Noem.

Zacharia made several appearances in conservative media, including serving as a commentator on Newsmax and Fox News.

According to Politico’s Playbook, Zacharia reportedly got Trump’s attention by timing her television appearances to when she believed he would be watching. She reportedly checked Trump’s public schedule and his Truth Social account every day, then made sure she was on television when he was free.
